Yasmin Bailey
Yasmin Bailey (she/her/hers) is a bi-sexual woman of color from Dorchester. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Yasmin started working for YJPU in February as the Lead Organizer of Campaigns and Operations. Her favorite part of YJPU is building community and working with people who are down for the fight to freedom. Her Vincentian heritage has given her the understanding and tools to succeed in her work throughout life. Yasmin is passionate about mangoes and the color teal. Fun fact: she has never moved a day in her life
Ziquelle Smalls
With a family history and childhood roots in organizing, Ziquelle has been in involved with a multitude of youth organizations, and has deep roots in organizations and movement formations in Boston.
Spending their teenage years organizing peers and community around fighting environmental injustice, police divestment and economic justice in the city budget, and state violence work. Ziquelle has continued to steward a multitude of political projects, lead grassroots campaigns, teach and facilitate radical seminars and popular education workshops, support the healing centered engagement process for leaders, and develop young people’s leadership skills to become movement leaders.
Ziquelle is a Black Organizing for Leadership & Dignity Lead Organizer & Directors 2018 alum and is committed to amplifying the voices of queer and trans youth of color to tell more complete stories and create transformative change. Ziquelle is currently the Lead Organizer of Base-Building and Campaigns.
